Barcelona FC have released a statement confirming that they plan to sue former player Neymar for the sum of 8.5 million euros.

Neymar left Barcelona to sign for PSG over the summer in a world-record transfer worth 222million euros.

The statement says that the fee relates to a payment of the 'first loyalty bonus' on the contact renewal that was supposed last until 2021.

They are demanding 8.5 million euros in damages plus an additional 10 percent. It also says that they will ask PSG to pay compensation if the player does not.

Meanwhile, Neymar has made an excellent start to life in France, getting a goal and assist on debut against Guingamp and then scoring twice and assisting twice on Sunday evening during his home debut against Toulouse.

PSG is also making arrangement to sign up Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho in a 20 million euros swoop, with Lucas Moura heading to Morroco and Julian Draxler also heading for the exit door as Bayern Munich enter race for the 36.5 million euro midfielder.
